Newport neighborhoods are visible as well including the Point and the Broadway area. Third Street and Farewell Street are clearly visible and the farmland separating the Naval Station from the City.
The reverse of photo identifies it as an official photo by the order of the Buureau of Aeronautics, and stamped by the U.S. Naval Air Station, Quonset Point, R.I. A pile of debris and building materials are in the center of the phto. The lower level windows of the atrium are not yet installed. The back of the photo is stamped, "This is an official photograph. Property of the Navy Dep." In pen is written "N.E. 40-29".

The trees on the lawn are without leaves. The brick building features two chimneys in the center section and is bookended by identical shorter structures with many windows.
